Roof and Wall Build-up Support
Roofing and cladding systems rely on their components being considered together. We can review the proposed build-up, from sheets, liners and insulation to rooflights, spacer bars, fixings, tapes, sealants and flashings, helping identify missing information and compatibility questions before products are ordered.
We can compare relevant manufacturer information covering thermal, acoustic, fire and structural performance and identify where U-value calculations, condensation assessments or other confirmation are required. Project design, calculations, regulatory compliance and final approval remain the responsibility of the appointed designer, engineer or specifier.
Where useful, we can prepare an indicative product schedule or build-up outline to support quotations and early project discussions. These are provided for product discussion and do not constitute project design, calculations or certification.
Product and Specification Support
Drawing on more than 15 years’ industry experience, we help customers compare available products against the information provided for the job. This may include profile and gauge, coating and colour, panel or insulation thickness, rooflight type and fixing drilling capacity, clamping range, thread and washer.
We can review drawings, schedules and specification extracts to identify relevant products, omissions and points requiring clarification. Support is based on the information supplied and available manufacturer data. Where project design, regulatory approval or manufacturer warranty confirmation is required, this must be obtained from the responsible designer, specifier or manufacturer.
Pull Out Testing and Technical Verification
We provide on-site tensile pull-out testing of suitable roofing and cladding fixings using a calibrated Hydrajaws M0095 long stroke tester, subject to an agreed scope, suitable access and substrate conditions. The test purpose, fixing type, locations, sample quantity and target load or test endpoint should be agreed with the responsible engineer, specifier or fixing manufacturer before work begins.
The report records the test locations, fixing and substrate information provided, measured loads and observed response or failure mode where applicable. It provides factual site data and does not determine design resistance, safe working load, compliance or suitability. Results must be interpreted and accepted by the responsible engineer or specifier.
Profile Matching Service
When an existing roof or wall profile is discontinued or cannot be identified, we can attend site to record key dimensions and help establish the closest practicable replacement. Where feasible, replacement sheets can be arranged by roll forming or hand folding.
Matching flashings, trims and closure pieces can also be arranged from agreed drawings or dimensions. An exact match in shape, cover width, coating, colour, gloss or weathered appearance may not always be possible. The proposed lap, sealing and fixing details must be assessed for the repair before installation.
